About Sarina
As a girl I dreamed of being a literary Nobel Laureate. Salman Rushdie. Jana Wendt. Arundhati Roy. Jhumpa Lahiri. These were my heroes. It’s taken me five decades to turn my gaze from the mountaintop in order to revel in the detail of the valley. The domestic life I once thought unworthy of examining is the electric socket of inspiration I now plug into. I’m a journalist, mother, author, wife, volunteer firefighter, wild swimmer, slave to my dog and a general over-enthusiastic liver of life. But in this context, I’m the person who understands the message of masala well enough to be able to share it with you.
